As I watched blogger news and other live coverage of the New York, London, Milan and Paris FW shows from the comforts of my room, or rather lets say my bed.. I couldn’t but feel a little low for a day or two. Aaah those swoon worthy fabrics, the incessant frills or the pop of red everywhere. Life and bustle in the throes of the fashion world. How I wished I was there, taking notes, clicking pictures and just being present where the heart of emerging trends beated and the very soul of fashion existed.
I want to be a rule breaker, that’s just me. And fashion is always about stretching boundaries and getting out of your comfort zone. Muscat is very different from Dubai in that, people here hardly dress up. Whereas in Dubai, men and women are dressed to the T, even to go to the grocery store. That might be a bit much but hey, I love to dress up and I figured I’m gonna do it whether people like it or not.
So if you are anything like me and want to keep up with trends from the latest Fashion weeks then read along. I have added a few of my pictures and others collected from Pinterest. In the coming weeks I hope to wear some of these trends, so do stay on board and let me know what you think.
1. Red alert
Fashion Week in September started off with New York and since then it was quite evident that RED was THE color for the fall and winter season. The color red was seen everywhere.

You could invest in a few red pieces whether it’s an ankle boot, red midi dress or a red blazer. I am definitely going to get myself a pair of red ankle boots.
2. Socks with heels
Socks are the ultimate accessory trend for 2017. We have already seen them at the beginning of the year and it still was around in September. Not only have we seen celebrities and streetstyle bloggers uphold the trend, big brands like Gucci, Vetements and Balenciaga all have shoes and sandals with socks combination.
Some of my favorite picks of this trend are:

3. Fringe Benefits
Shimmy Shimmy ya – oh shimmy yeah, oo la la la laa…Shimming away its gonna be baby with all the fringe layering seen across the ramps. Whether hinged on the hem of a skirt or jacket or flowing down the length of a dress, fringe adds a sense of rebellion and naughty playfulness to an attire.

4. Classic pyjama stories
Be it long kimonos/coats that resemble pyjamas because of its print or the choice of fabric or trousers that slack like a night suit, the trend of wearing ‘pyjama’ looking attires is here to stay. The just got out of bed look will always be in with the rebellious soul.

5. Pant Suit tribe
Its all about the girl boss! Power and feminism to the next level with pant suits whether tailored or slouchy, colorful or grim. When you can style a power suit in multiple ways whether toning it down with a soft lace cami or by wearing nothing at all inside, there is no reason why this trend wouldn’t stay for a few seasons.

6. Heavy metal
Gold and silver whether it be in a satin version of an LBD or a heavily sequenced slip dress worn over a turtle neck was setting the ramps on fire with its disco ball effects. This trend is definitely not for the light hearted but hey if you have decided to break the rules, then I’d say be bold and never look back .

Pearls and checkered patterns were also seen across the ramps. In the coming months I will try and experiment with a bit of my style. Stay tuned to see, whether its something you would wear or not.
