When you’ve been working your ass off at the gym, and you think you can flaunt certain parts of your body without looking discourteous, then I’d say go for it! The in and out trend of the crop top is back to stay and that too for a bit I’d reckon. I love to have such fashion resilient staples in my wardrobe.
Celebrities from the 90’s to the early 2000’s sported the look with much exuberance. From the western style icons like Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera to the Spice Girls to our Bollywood beauties like Karishma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Maliake Aurora to many others, have all worn the look. Most of these women had nearly flat to absolutely flat tummies. (Its just more flattering when you have a flat tummy, atleast I wouldn’t have dare worn it when I had flab). If you are new in the area of crop tops, I would start of with a fitting but slightly longer length.
There are different styles of crop tops that you can experiment with:
Short and fitted
Medium length and fitted
Slightly longer and fitted
A baggy crop top
Long sleeved crop top
Short in the front and longer/tapered at the back
Faux crop tops (tops that look like a crop top but does not necessarily show any skin)
There are several ways to pair a Crop top:
Along with a high waisted trouser.
Along with a midi skirt.
A baggy crop top along with skinny jeans.
Under a set of dungarees.
Paired with a short skirt.
With a contrast colotte.
Along with a full length skirt.
Paired with a ¾ th’s or capris.
Under a tailored jacket.
For my look, I paired a bright coral medium length crop top with a flared floral midi. I wore this look to attend the launch of the LC Waikiki store at The Avenues Mall in Oman.
