It has been 3 weeks since I've been training with Coach Yoka at the Elite Gym. the bodies of his trainees transform. I never knew so many of these muscles existed in my body. I never knew I could push myself to do some of lifts I do now. I never knew I had it in me. The list of ‘I never knew’ can go on and on. It truly has been a life altering 3 weeks for me. Not only does it require a 100% dedication but along with it perseverance and the drive to achieve results. I must say it definitely helps that my hubby is also training with the Coach and therefore understands the pain I go through. Our eating habits have improved drastically and these days our conversations generally revolve around which muscle group we worked.
I train 3 times a week with the Coach. Ideally I would like to train more but at this point in my life, it’s practically impossible as I have an 8 month old baby and a 4 year old to tend too. This kind of dedicated and tailored fitness training requires the trainee to stick to a stringent nutritional plan and get adequate sleep (7-8 hours of sounds sleep).
The first two weeks of the training is the most difficult. Every inch of your body will hurt. You will be introduced to muscles in your body that you never knew existed. But it does get more tolerable (not easier) and you will want to come back if you stick to the initial 2 weeks. The lifestyle grows on you and you manage to live your life around it. Staying fit and healthy becomes an addiction and I’d say its not a bad one to have.
During a typical week so far I train the following:
Day 1: Arms/Shoulders and Chest
Day 2: Back and Abs
Day 3: Legs
In the next few posts I shall talk about some of exercises I do during these individual training sessions.
It is a lot of hardwork but the results are so worth it. Post delivery I had reduced from 79 kilos to 59 kilos. I came to Yoka when Liam was 7 months old and my weight has plateaued at 59 kilos. 3 weeks into the training not only am I stronger, healthier and fitter than ever before but I am down to 56 kilos. As a mom of 2 young kids, it involves a lot of time management, determination and will power. If I can do it so can you.
